Pros and cons of Zinio - The World's Magazine Newsstand app for iPhone and iPad
Zinio - The World's Magazine Newsstand app good for
This app is amazing and convenient! I love that I have all my magazines in electric form. I can keep up and refer back to all my favorite magazines without all the clutter of the physical magazines. I am a magazine hoarder, so I love this!
Had to re download magazines after last upgrade, which is a drag, but I have not experienced crashes and the graphics are great. Magazines are better than the print versions, especially Nat. Geographic!
I can keep all my magazines without the guilt of clutter! I LOVE that!!! I just wish they took PayPal...
All my magazines in one neat place without cluttering up my small apartment.
This is a great app. One needs nothing else to get the nest magazines.Thank you!
Best magazine app for the iPad! Seems like most of the kinks have been ironed out...Its great having all of my favorite magazines with me on the road!
Some bad moments
Its horribly annoying to remind us to rate the app by popup.
This practise should be banned.
Asks me to write a review nearly every time I open the app. This shouldnt happen more than once a month, at most. So heres your review: one star.
Where are ALL my magazines? I have bought subscriptions on the kinds of magazines that one doesnt throw away. Many are history editions that can, and should be, reread. Zinio limits the number of magazines on a device. Fair enough, although Im quite capable of doing this myself, but I should be able to access all my magazines. Apparently I have "so many." Well, thats the point of zinio, isnt it? And its easily solved - I just have to stop buying magazines from Zinio if that seems to be a problem. I was told over the last couple of years that your IT department was working on this but its still not resolved. Perhaps you need to ask other digital magazine companies that manage to give access to all purchased publications how they do it since you cannot.
So I got a subscription to Playboy (inspired by the Amazon docudrama series). Everything goes fine. Except for my digital access I have to go through Zinio. The app looks good and Im excited. But then I cant get the magazine to download. Turns out that Zinio wont download "mature content" on the iOS app.
Which is bogus. Thousands of apps in the app store are flagrantly mature or easily allow access to mature content.
Either way, this app and my digital subscription are useless. I can use the web browser interface, but that is clunky and useless without signak (flying).
Subscribed to "Astronomy Magazine" the subscription on their website was automatically set to subscribe via Zinio, I downloaded this app to be able to read my magazines on the go, but every time I go outside WiFi range the app tells me it needs a connection to function. I put the internal settings for "autoimatic download", but the app refuses to download the mags. Zinio seems to have limited functionality and no download capability. Total waste of a $37.00 subscrtiption fee for a magazine that wont download, next time, Ill just subscribe through the iTunes app for the magazine.
Cant remember a username and password?
Other apps can.
Not even fingerprint ID?
What a pain.
